The Accurail 50' Welded-Side Single-Door Boxcar kit is based on widely used 50' box cars. New safety rules beginning in the 1960’s required the removal of roof walks on boxcars, and in the process ladders and brake wheels were also lowered. New cars were constructed without roof walks.
This model features a one-piece detailed injection-molded plastic body with most details molded in place for durability during operation. Other features include realistic decoration with end reporting marks, under-body details, trucks with Delrin wheel sets, nonmagnetic axles and AccuMate magnetic knuckle couplers. This steel diesel-era boxcar kit is great for modelers of all skill levels and includes complete instructions.
