This Kato EMD SDP40F Type 4 diesel is based on the locomotives Santa Fe purchased from Amtrak and rebuilt for freight duties. Features of the SDP40F include a five-pole motor with dual flywheels, all-wheel electrical pickup, heavy die cast metal chassis, fine decoration, wheel profiles for operation on Code 55 & larger rail, directional LED headlights and Kato magnetic knuckle couplers. This unit comes equipped with a factory-installed ESU LokSound decoder for realistic sound and DCC operation. SDP40F Type 4 locomotives will be at home on the head end of your railroad's freight runs.
